When you say crank over, do you mean the engine will not turn, or the engine turns over but soes not start? Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

truck doesnt even attempt to turn over starter does nothing. battery fully charged, starter tested good. turn key to tryto start i get a click sounds like the relay under hood. i replaced the neutral safety switch today still nothing any thoughts? i dont think its the ignition because it clicks when i attempt to crank it over. thinkin possibly the starter solenoid but starter was replaced 12 months ago new, they ran it on a test machine said it was good but i dont think they can test the solenoid itself just the starter please help

If a single click it's usually a poor battery cable connection. Check those at battery, starter solonoid and the neg end at the engine block. If multiple clicks like a machine gun it usually a weak battery but you said you tested that - not all tests are certain, T

Today i decided to try to cross or jump the starter it started right up. but still wont start with the key? what could be the problem all connections are good and tight is there a inline fuse in the ignition looked in fuse box nothing? any help? the ignition unlocks steering normal and can go to accessorie fine and can turn ignition on so everything works and turns like it would energize starter but all i get is a faint click sounds like relay on firewall.

> http://www.autozone.com/...artTypeResultSet.htm < Never happened so I went looking and there is cube box relay for the starter on this - I think. Check that link above and see if that's what's giving you the click you hear. Sometimes that type respond to a tap with like a screwdriver handle and if that works I'd change it. Sometimes you get lucky and find a relay you don't need for a test with same part # like for A/C and just swap them but only if exact part #, T
