If you're sure that clicking noise is coming from the starter, then all it can be is Bad starter Poor battery cable connection Dead battery Assuming you wired the starter correctly ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

And I had the new starter tested just to make sure it wasn't faulty.

What is the voltage at the S terminal on the starter when your attempting to crank the engine? Have you done a voltage drop test on the battery cables? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

The S terminal or small wire at the starter solenoid should be 12 volts or battery voltage when you attempt to crank the engine. The voltage drop on both negative and positive cables should be less than .5 volts. watch this to perform drop test: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paw80mS_Kxg Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Why would I encourage an answer like that? When you assume things are good just because they may not be that old without testing anything, you can end up wasting a whole lot of time. I told you what the only things that could cause those symptoms were and you just blew it all off without testing anything. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

You push started it? What exactly did that resolve? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
