98 Deville 4.6. When trying to start, sometimes it would just click. After multiple tries, it would start. Battery connections seemed fine, so replaced the starter (under the intake manifold!) Still having the same problem. Is there anything else like a sensor or anything that could cause this? Only trouble codes are O2 codes and 2 codes I don't know about. P1253-H0251 insufficient switches bank 2, sensor 1 and P1133- H0251 Insufficient switches bank 1 sensor 1. Thanks for the help!!! links to other forums removed

General on this: Single click then nothing and possibly dim lights or loss of memory stuff should mean a connection. Multiple rapid fire clicking is usually inadequate amps. GM side post terminals are a trouble spot. Use a memory saver disconnect and peel back to really see the eyelet inside. Chase down ground end at engine block. Looking good isn't the whole story, sometimes you plain have to take them of and clean them up. Starter under manifold would have a connection that you can't get at or even see most likely but should mostly be out of harm's way. Would be very labor intensive and possible it has a starter problem. More checking and testing could nail that down, T
