Just bought a 98 contour svt, the orignal wiring harness was ripped apart and they had their own wiring rats nest going on. While sorting the wires out a ground wire bumped a power wire for a split second causing a spark. This disabled the power to the dasy and headlights. THAT power wire is attached to a thick yellow wire going into the fuse box under the dash. All fuses under the dash and under the good are good. I Ran power from the fuse box to the yellow wire and all the light come on but when you turn the key nothing happens.. I don't know what to do. I know my way around cars, and have intalled many radios but I'm stumped. Please Help!

There should be a series of fusible links attached to the starter solenoid that feed the ignition switch and inside fuse box. Check for maxi fuses in the battery fuse box also. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
