So i got a 99 dodge durango awhile back and now when Im either coming to a stop or moving slow the truck will just shut off. Everything stays on like the air and what not but I have to put it in park and start it back up. I Just replaced the fuel pump relay today and it happened again. What are some other things I can replace to fix this problem? Im wanting to start with the more inexpensive things first and work my way up to the non expensive things unless you guys know for a fact what i'll need to replace. Thanks! it's the 4WD 5.9L if that helps anyone

Problems are not resolved by throwing parts at them. First thing to do is scan the computer for any stored codes. Then I would clean the throttle body. Remove the intake snorkel, have someone hold the throttle wide open for you and scrub the back side of the throttle plate and surrounding bore with an old tooth brush and some carb cleaner. Be sure to spray some into the small holes next to the throttle plate. That should help stabilize the idle. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
