I have a 99 f-150 standard transmission. When I try to start it it just clicks on the inside. Nothing clicks on the out side. I turned the head lights on and they do not dimm when I try to start it. The starter is a year old from auto znone. I allready had to replace one from them allready after about 2 years. I thoght if the starter was bad or solioniod it would click on the out side. Is that true.

1st thing you want to do is have the battery checked and make sure the connection are clean and tight. If that checks out get a test light, take the small wire off the solenoid and see if you get power when you turn the key to the start position. If not you can quickly jump that terminal to 12v to see if the starter will crank over
