Hey guys and gals.. It's been a while since I've been on here. Got a new problem w/ the A/C on the '98 Olds Cutlass. The A/c does not work on settings 1 and 2. It pushes plenty of air on settings 3-5. I have visually inspected the vaccuum lines in the engine compartment and all appears well. I have not done any electrical tests on the blower motor yet. I think I may start there, or check to see if the lines on the back of the adjustor panel on the console are connected properly. Anyone out there with any experience w/ a problem of this nature? I work at a Nissan shop and can have one of my techs look at it, but would prefer to correct the problem myself. I have just received a hot tip that the blower resistor might be shot. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Ben. Ben

The blower resistor could be the problem. Usually you get HIGH fan only as it works to lower the fan speed and blower gets full current for high. Resistor should be near the blower - perhaps on top. The switch could do this but less likely IMO, T
