About timing/drive belts...	Sign In

Hi,

In the car manual there’s nothing about timing belts. I have suzuki swift 2015, automatic, 30,000km, do you perhaps know when I should change the timing belt?

The manual does mention drive belts, but again it doesn't tell when they need to be replaced.

Good question and hang in there. I just looked it up and apparently this model isn't sold to the US at all anymore. You still need to know if a chain drive, belt or another way that doesn't have a known service time/mile(km) inspect or replace suggestion.
A 2015 w low mile/km like that if like cogged rubber belt on most that did would be about 6 yrs or 60-70K (miles) just do them.
ASK but think you'll find it's NOT now a routine for this exact model and engine for 2015. Web bull isn't going to let me check on this model if not sold here new,

As Tom stated, no Suzukis are sold in the US any more. I went back to 2012 and the Vitari and that one was a timing chain, not a belt. Since you didn't supply an engine size anyway, I have to assume they are all chains.

Engine capacity is 1240.

I'll ask mechanic about this when I reach about 50-60K km.

Yes, they can simply look at the engine and determine if it's a belt or a chain.
