Almost all cars use EG (Ethylene Glycol) and it doesn't lose it's anti-freeze ability unless diluted from some mishap.
The most common suggested mix is 50/50 which gets you -34F. It's highly toxic so if you change it yourself please seek out disposal places.
Straight anti-freeze will cause problems. More is NOT better. A few folks deal with some colder temps so I'll let that go. NOT straight but a tad stronger. Some never see freezing at all and you may cool better by lowering the concentration to perhaps -10F but mark the car!! If you want to do that in a hot climate I would add some anti-corrosive product to help you out.
If adding or changing check the reading from the gauge at 50/50 well mixed that it reads right. I've had two!!!!!! that were 20F OFF!!!!! from new and that's not acceptable.
If you find it more that just a little low find out why. (volume)
