96 jeep cherokee 60k. Somethings squeaking. Belt doesn't look too bad could it be the tensioner? The noise is annoying. If its the tensioner, can I just spray some wd-40 on it(its one of the manually adjusted tensioners)?

WD-40 on belt may quiet a belt temporarily but now harder to check tension. Check longest stretch of belt between pulleys for how much it can move. Without the WD-40 now you can't just go by turning the alternator fins as they should be hard to turn if belt it tight enough. Too tight, you burn out pulley bearings. Other: May not be belt tension at all. Take belt off and spin pulleys. Good ones have no lash, sounds or gritty feel when spun by hand, T
