I have a 1990 Pontiac Grand Am that has been sitting for about a year. I tried to jump start it and it started. I let it run for about 5-10 minutes and as soon as I put my foot on the brake the engine died. I re jumped it and started it with the same results, as soon as I put my foot on the brake it dies. What is the problem?

Place the battery on a charger until it is fully charged. You are just putting a "surface charge" on it and the extra load of the brake lights are drawing all the current out of the battery. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
