If my car sits for 4-5 days my battery is almost dead. I did the parasitic test and it was .28. My first question is that reading .28 milliamps or 280 milliamps? So I went thru and pulled each fuse until I found one that made it drop to .18 like in the image. The fuse was for a charging port that I have a cable for charging my cell with a light around it that's on at all times. Could that small light be draining the battery that much? None of the other fuses made the numbers fall. I also unhooked all the leads to the alternator and there was no change. Btw when I was trying to take the nut off the alternator it broke off the whole terminal so that was a $250 mistake. Anyway, I really don't know what else it could be. Any ideas? Yes. that is 280 ma and way too much. Use this procedure to test it. First rig any door switches so you can have a door open without triggering the interior lights and unplug the hood light. Remove one battery cable and attach the meter in series between the battery cable and battery post. Take the jumper wire and also attach it the same way. Leave the jumper wire on for at least 30 to 40 minutes to expire all the automatic timers. Now remove the jumper wire and read the meter. Anything over 50ma is too much draw. The way you locate this is to start removing fuses one at a time until the meter drops to normal level. This will be the circuit with something staying on. That is 0.18 amps or 180 milliamps on your meter's face. 180 milliamp draw is too much. On today's vehicles with lots of computers, you really can't pull fuses when checking for draws. Pulling fuses can actually cause modules to wake up that are on data buses and give you inaccurate results. Thanks for the replies. Like I said I've pulled every fuse one at a time and the one I mentioned is the only one that makes any difference. I laid down the back seat to make sure the trunk light isn't on and it isn't. I pulled all the relays and it didn't make a difference either.

Did you install that charging port that leaves a light on at all times? Why? A or B - you can get a charging port for dirt without a light or have it active only when ignition is on. ? Did you tap into a fuse or an open spot at fuse box to do that? IDK what kind of way or if just any other wire that had power no telling what else stays enabled or altered because of that. Understood - we need (most do) ports for charging things. Do you always need a vehicle for charging things or why not do this at home - other place? They make a tiny wall unit you just push in any wall outlet and it's a power port from 110 to 12V but now hard to find? It was close to $20 bucks at a Target store but know on line find stuff like that for lots less and skip the vehicle's own unless you are in it driving, T

It's the charging port inside the armrest that came factory on the car. Like a cigarette port and the light is on the charging cable itself not the port. So I left the meter hooked up in series for 20-30 mins and it reads 0.03 which is 30 milliamps correct? I unhooked it and hooked the meter back up again and it went to 0.18 and after 20-30 mins or so it went to 0.03 Isn't that in range? I replaced the battery a few months ago but could it be a bad battery?

Might be losing you with what you did. The light is on cable to a device while plugged in or a ring around the port so you can find it in the dark - those were OE before tubeless tires on some cars and dimmed with dash light dimmers. Now you had a port cig lighter or power port should be same hole + size - real cig lighter just doesn't make a good port for power vs a power port design. If using only OE wires right there the problem is why are you leaving a device charging in it when you aren't using the car? Many makes power ports do not work when key is not in run position or accessory position can't know each make and model that does or doesn't. More don't now I'm finding. Other - if this glovebox in console has to be open is there even a dim light inside that you didn't notice and it's open? You said when fuse for this unplugged it at least lowered drain so there's you spot to find the problem smacks of something you are doing and how or the way it's being used or how tapped into existing wires. Other too common if this port is open at the top not sideways or level they can collect junk, coins or dirt drops in and the draw or a total short which would blow the fuse. If this isn't THE total problem it still is a problem and would take it out and put back the way it was. You can add a power port dirt cheap and decent and I do for myself found in the RV electrical area of exactly Walmarts but not all have the same stuff depending on location of store. In short - redo this and rethink what you can do that isn't invasive to the car, T
