I broke the lug stud on my blazer while putting a tire on. The stud that broke was on the back, so it is on a wheel with drum brakes. I believe that if I take the drum off, I will not have to do any further disassembling, and I can simply pound the stud out and put another one in, is this correct? If so, when pounding the stud out of the hub, do I need to worry about bending the hub or messing up bearings? Also, what size hammer should I use? Thank you.

An air hammer will make this easier. The replacement stud and nut is set by torque and should be checked again later. Don't use air tools to tighten for the final torque! A real torque wrench or cross bar is much better. Don't quote me but I think the final torque is about 70ft pounds. Be safe,
