I have a 1988 Hyundai Excel. Recently the rear left hand wheel has started locking up while driving (very frightening), usually after 5 - 20 minutes. After squealing to a halt and pumping the brake a couple of times the problem rectifies itself and the car will go for anything between 5 minutes and a half an hour before it happens again. Any ideas? Thanks

I think this uses rear drum brakes. Wheel cylinders can freeze up and parking brake (usually rear brakes) can hang up making that brake work harder or sometimes less if too hot. Spin the rear wheels - they should coast. Do a complete brake check up anyway with a complaint like that, T
