I have a 2000 Dodge Caravan Sport, 3.3L V6 engine. I had brake repairs done, but the pedal is "firm" and yet the van doesn't stop as it should. I had the front pads & rotors replaced along with the rear drums, shoes, springs & one cylinder. The front calipers & master cylinder are about one year old. The brakes have been bled twice, and a test on the "booster" showed good pressure/vaccum readings. I am at a loss as to what to try next.

red rain; Assuming that you don't have air in the system (which would cause a 'mushy' pedal), I'd say to give it a few more miles for the new brakes to 'seat'. It isn't unusual to feel that they aren't 'grabbing' as normal when they are new. Make sure that your engine is providing enough vacuum. You should be seeing 17-20hg at idle speed.
