Brakes Sign In

I have a 04 300m chrylser with 82000. When I step on the brakes I hear a loud thumping noise from drivers front. I did need to replace the brakes soon ( about 3000 left) so I replaced the pads. My machanic told me the roters looked ok but after I still got that noise. He did check it out again and told me it was the ABS making the caliber piston making that noise. I'm a disabled person and $ is not there. Do you feel it may be roters the ABS or something else? Help

Re: Brakes Sign In

Rotors aren't required to be turned unless they are grooved, warped of have a lip on them. If you're getting a noise from the LF while brking, it would probably be a good idea to turn the rotors to insure there is no type of wear pattern that was overlooked.

With the ABS, the only part that is on the LF is the speed sensor and isn't going to make noise. If the ABS did get activated you would probably hear the HCU under the hood & feel it in the pedal......................
