2004 Ford Freestar 4.2L V6 110k mi I just got a recall item done, and the service people showed me some items they considered concerning. Here is the list. * RF CV axle inner boot torn and full of dirt * Lower ball joint boots already ripped * Tranny leaking looks like someone tried to JB weld a case half How serious are these issues? I understand that tranny leaking can be a big deal, so I'm going to get that one specifically looked at by a mechanic. I'm just not sure how serious the torn boots are.

Yes, they are pretty important. C/V axles go from time to time and are not a real big deal. Losing a ball joint on the highway can cause the wheel to come off so you really don't want that to happen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
