I am somewhat knowledgable with cars and generally handle most of my car repairs on my own. Is a cam shaft sensor something I could tackle on my own or is it best left to a mechanic? I was told with a previous car that the sensor can get coated with build up over time and should be cleaned. Could that cause my car to give off a bad sensor code? The cam sensor is located behind the timing cover. Usually cam sensors don't get built up with anything. Have you tested the cam sensor signal output?
