Can't move car Sign In

My son's 1986 Pontiac Fiero is in my garage and I can't get it out. It has an automatic transmission, won't start, and won't shift out of park with or without the keys. How can I get the gear into neutral to get the car out of my garage?

check the shifter to see if you need to press a button to unlock it so you could shift it into Rev or drive.

I tried pressing on the brake while holding the button in on the shift. The stick won't budge. Thanks for trying.

For lack on any better ideas ---- can you jack that up by the differential with a floor jack and get both wheels in the air? If so you can just roll it out but the jack wheels won't like defects in pavement or dirt/lawn whatever,

Re: Can't move car Sign In

Recently had the similar issue in my friend's car. It turned out the cord that connects shift lever to the gear corroded and just teared apart. The solution was to change the cord of course. I guess this can be the case for this old car as well.
