Car ECM Error Light Code P0507 Sign In

2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8L, 145,000 Miles

Error code diagnosed by Bosch OBD I&II Scanner displays a ECM P0507 error code sharing that "Idle Air Control System Revolutions Per Minute Higher Than Expected"

So I googled it and found that I should first take out & clean my throttle body. I removed the throttle body, cleaned it, and put it back in.

Now when I start my car, my idle is "all over the place" fluctuating and going up randomly and down...I honestly didn't write the exact idle amount down but I just could tell something wasn't right.

I took the throttle body out properly, cleaned it with brake cleaner, and than reinstalled it. My dad later after the fact mentioned I shouldn't have touched the metal flap that opens and closes.

I feel like me touching the metal flap isn't that big of a deal but I'm not a mechanic, I don't know.

I relearned it as well by the way after I cleaned it and reinstalled it, and I did so several times. I had the car off. Turned the car on to warm it up to normal temp. Turned it off, relearned it, and than re-did it a few times.

I resolved my issue.

I just wanted to reply to this thread as I know how reliable this forum could be.

I had to drive my car on the highway for a bit, than relearn it and the videos/info I found online about to relearn process didn't/failed to mention that it's very important to start the engine up right away at the end of the relearn. My idle is now at 600-800 and I hope this resolved my engine service light as I believe the idle before was around 1100-1200.

The code is telling you that the computer is unable maintain the desired idle speed using the electronic throttle.

First check the engine carefully for any vacuum or intake air leaks. In the end you may find it has a bad throttle body but you first have to eliminate other causes. Make sure there is no sludge buildup on the back of the throttle plate or surrounding bore.

You posted while I was typing.

Hopefully it is permanently resolved but it may not be.
