Car Seat Repair Sign In

Hi,

My 2003 Toyota Avalon XLS has gray leather seats with some tearing in the driver's seat. I have taken it to a couple upholsterers and the best price I can get for the repair is $350.

https://imgur.com/a/RiYzLfA (Here is a picture of the seat)

I'm a DIYer, and I can't believe (or stomach) spending that much on what seems like an injury that runs only "skin-deep." I don't need the seat to look absolutely perfect, I just want it to not look painfully obvious that a repair has been done.

Tips or experience? [;)

OMG, that's trashed! Your quote couldn't be for leather or really reupholstering that would cost a REAL fortune not $350 is dirt.
You probably should look the world over for another seat and that color or see if total seat covers would be an option but it can't stay like that you'll have metal parts at tyou soon if not already a hazard to you,

Are you kidding me?

If you can get that seat repaired for that price........GRAB IT!

If you want a short cut, get a seat cover.

I found this on Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SYH6QY4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I think I will try this first (hey, for $15, it's worth a shot!) Only thing I'm worried about is how it interacts with the heated seats (do you think it could actually pose a safety hazard, like catch fire??) If it doesn't pan out or looks ridiculous, I will take it to the upholsterer. :)

That stuff is a joke. The seat is destroyed including the foam.

You have 2 choices. You either have an upholstery shop fix it right or you just get a seat cover and hide it.
