Car diling too fast

My battery went dead yesterday as I left a light on inside all night. I jumped it this morning and got it started. All of a sudden, I noticed my car was idling very fast. I do have some corrosion on the terminals, but not sure if these two are related. Please help!

What kind of car? Probably is related. Clean up corroded terminals and charge the battery with a charger is best - not just relying on the car's alternator when so dead from leaving something on. Some cars when bat goes flat need to re-learn settings for the car's computer. Idle if out of control is not good, T
