Car info: 2013, Kia Soul, 2.5 L engine, 138,000 miles So I went on my anniversary with my wife and I left my car with my family. By the time I got back everything was good and they reported no problems. Yesterday the car did something it has never done before. My car is an automatic As I was driving it went up to gears just fine. I came to a stop and when I went to speed up again the car would not change gears. It felt as if the car was dragging a building behind it. So I parked and turned off the car and back on and it worked fine. No check engine light or anything. I woke up this morning and went to work I got there early so I parked the car and sat in the car for about 5 minutes. All of a sudden the car just died. It wasn't abruptly it was slow. I started the car again and it started fine but sounded like it was struggling to stay on. The power steering light turned on for a little then turned itself off. Then the car just turned on fine. Driving back to work after lunch the car would not change gears again. This time the check engine light turned on. I have no idea what's going on. The car worked just fine a couple of days again and had no issues at all.

Your first step is to have ALL modules scanned for stored codes. I don't mean using a DIY code reader. I mean a professional scan tool capable of accessing all modules. PS, I deleted your duplicate question, not necessary. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
