Car wont fire up Sign In

I have an 1998 buick lesabre custom, and everything was fine until i went to accelerate into the main street and It struggled as I presed on the gas. Then, The check engine light flashed on and it was going okay, A bit jumpy as I held on the gas. Got it home, Parked and turned it off... Waited about a minute and started it. It started fine but It was in park and the iddle was jumping a bit and the lights were dimming with the engine. I pressed on the gas, (in park) and reved it up a bit and then it started to chug a bit and then died. And Now it wants to start but wont fire up. Its got plenty of gas, fuel pump engages... Anybody know whats wrong?

To narrow down where the prob is, you really need to check the basics 1st. Spark, fuel pressure (with a gauge), injector pulse, pull codes & then go from there depending on what you find.

With this little of info you'd have to use the SWAG method ( Scientific Wild A$$ Guess). I'd guess you have a plugged cat....pull a exhause pipe loose or take out an O2 & see if it starts....Smile

Thank you for your feedback. I just got done checking the basics, fuel pump, spark and fuses are good. It's getting gas in the system...Battery is good... So the only possible reason is the brain not engaging fuel into the chambers. I'm going to get it towed to pepboys for diagnostics. Hopefully it's minor whats wrong with it...

Sometimes that the best way when the prob isn't obvious....... In the long run it can be a lot cheaper than throwing expensive parts at it....... good luck
