Hey everyone. I got my oil changed probably about a month or so, maybe a month and a half. After driving for about 10-15 mins, after the oil change, my check engine light turned on. The young punk kids were working on my car and trying to sell me stuff that I didn't need. They were taking parts off my car and everything else.
Well, my check engine light has been on since. For some reason I didn't go back and ask them why it went on. Probably because I didn't want to see this punk kids and hear their b\s
Anyway few weeks ago I took off the neg. side of the battery to see if it will reset it. Still didnt do anything. Well tonight I took off the pos. and neg. side of the battery and waited 10 mins. Still, the check engine light was on.
My question is, I noticed when I was taking off the pos. and neg. cables to the battery that I don't have any "Engine Coolant". I was wondering if this is what triggered the check engine light?
I do look at my temp. gauge every once in a while and I did notice that the engine is running at normal temps. It hasn't over heated or smoked or anything.
I was going to go auto zone tomorrow and see if they can look at the computer and someone said they tell you whats wrong. I was just wondering if I should put engine coolant into my engine before I go down there and they do all the tests.
Obviously as soon as the hardware store opens tomorrow I'm going to get some engine coolant.
I would just like to know in advance if I should still go to auto zone and have them look at it, or will the engine coolant take off the check engine light. Also, do I need to take off the cables on the battery again after I put engine coolant in, to reset itself.
I have a 1997 Buick Le Sabre, with about 75,000 - 80,000 miles on it. Not exactly sure.
If you guys read all this, I hope I gave you enough info, and hopefully you guys can help me out.

Fill up the cooling system first. Then go have the codes read. Post back here with the EXACT code number and we can help you. They will try to sell you parts on the spot and may give you something like "It says there is a problem with the O2 sensor." Don't accept that. Tell them you want the code number so you can do some diagnostics then you will be back. We are here to help you when you return.

Hey guys. I got the problem fixed. I got the coolant filled and still nothing happened. So I went to auto zone and they did the computer check. They got two codes, which were the same thing. Which is weird I guess.
Anyway, the guy was real nice. He said well, I have been a mechanic for 25 years but I have never heard of this code before. I'm like oh great. So he looked it up on the computer and they the computer said something about the air flow and something to do with the fuel getting to the engine.
So we went back out to the car, and he lifted the cover that covers over the block and he was looking for about a min.
Then he said, well I cant beleive I just found your problem. The problem was remember my first post I was saying about the punk kids taking my car apart. Well when they showed me my airfilter saying its dirty... which it wasnt. They forgot to plug in a connector to the airbox.
So we reset the check engine light, and it went off..and stayed off...
Sorry, I dont remember the code.
But I THINK it was like PO113. That might have been it, but I'm not sure.

Hey John. Thanks for the follow up. We are "paid" with the knowledge that someone wants to post the fix reply. That really means a lot to us as we know someone has at least listened a little. Again, thanks for the follow up.
