Chrysler central locking sticking Sign In

This is something that started a few weeks ago. For no reason the sliding doors on my 2008 Chrysler Grand Voyager will not open manually from the inside or outside (even with the system unarmed) but will open with the key fob or the overhead console switches. The only thing I've tried that works is to disconnect the battery and upon reconnection the sys is back to normal. Only problem is it's now a recurring problem which seems to happen randomly. I was thinking it must be a malfunction with the child locks but now it's started to happen with the front doors - again both sides. This is worse because there is no remote way to open the front doors so they must remain unusable until I once again disconnect the battery. It's all getting very tiring, has anyone had a problem like this?

p.s. Sorry I just realised this is a US site (I'm in England). I think the model name over there is a Dodge Grand Caravan ? I've rented the same model on vacation

Your first step is to access the BCM with a professional scan tool and check codes and data pertaining to the doors.
