Clunky in idle, what gives?

I have a 04 Buick Alero. It will probably hit 100k this week. Last week I had the oil changed and got a new fuel filter. It's driving fine, except when I'm idleing ate red light and what not. It sounds really 'clunky' like it's missing a few beats. It hasn't stalled (yet) but that's what it feel like.
Should i check the air filter and add some cleaner to the gas? Any suggestions as to what it might be?
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Which engine?
Check engine light on or flashing?

How cna i determine which engine? Like cylinders? The check engine light has been on for two years, it's broken.

The light's not broken. The mechanic that told you that is.
You can get the engine size from the 8th digit of the VIN#
You need to have the codes read and post the code numbers here.

Okay thanks so much! I'll go have that done and come beck and report.
I do know last time the codes were pulled it showed this car has a history of check engine light failures. I didn't gte it brand new so that's all I know.

It can be fixed. They just didn't know how.
