I have purchased a new one-piece convertible top for my car and now need to install it... There were barely any instructions with it, all the paperwork said was to "follow basic convertible top installation". I have found instructions on how they are put onto other cars, but the instructions seem to be unique to the specific car. I don't mind messing with it to get it right, but I also don't want to ruin it. I had someone tell me that it's a very difficult thing to do and will take 4 hours and require two people, I've also been told it's very easy. I'm a fish out of water... Is this a task someone can take on that's slightly mechanically inclined or would it be a disaster? I don't want to get in over my head and lacking proper directions, I am hesitant to take this on.

Quoting you ">I'm a fish out of water... Is this a task someone can take on that's slightly mechanically inclined or would it be a disaster? I don't want to get in over my head and lacking proper directions, I am hesitant to take this on.<" Have you consulted with an auto body shop and on to an upholstery specialty shop yet at all? This is near always unique to each car and models within models. Glass back, or plastic, RW Defroster or not, interior lining or not and a dozen more things. 100% totally a specialty not some DIY thing at all since a handful of other manual types that didn't seal up at all new, never did nor really intended to. OMG - way over your head. Could be wiring inside where staples or fasteners go to avoid ruining stuff you probably don't know is even involved - I can't know at all may already have been done before and not right. Seek professional suggestions and the right place to do what you want or need to get done then who should do it. NOT a DIY job at all, get the right help, T
