Coolant system problems

2003 Dodge Grand Caravan V6 3.6 170,000 mi. Over the last few months we have had constant coolant problems. We have replaced the radiator, the thermostat, and both the upper and lower intake gaskets. However, after all this, we still have the same problems. The heater dosn't work. The temp gauge rises and falls regularly between mid level and 3/4. Every few days we have to add coolant to the radiator. The reservoir will be full when the radiator is empty we can't seem to find where the coolant is leaking. Any ideas?

You have all the symptoms of a blown head gasket. The temp gauge fluctuation and lack of heat is due to combustion gases being pushed into the cooling system ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

That depends on what kind of damage to the heads if any. $800 is probably an average. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Highly likely what HT is suggesting. Do check something that can fool you when a reservoir is staying full, leaking system and a radiator found low that the hose/tube from radiator to the tank is intact. The can and will push out coolant and NOT suck it back into system not usually so much as to lose heat but worth the check on any really, T
