DAMP FLOOR Sign In

the floor of my car in the passenger side is somewhat wet underneath the mat. It's winter time so I assume it could be the snow .. Also the left backseat is damp (when sat on for awhile). Should I be concerned?

Re: DAMP FLOOR Sign In

yes.
always a concern...need to find out where it is coming in from.....
you didn't mention what kind of vehicle it is, i.e. year, make ,model, etc.
but some vehicles have a major wiring harness that runs along the floor area at the threshold area under the carpeting.
i have seen many a water leak damage wiring harness, corrode splices etc.. and cause electrical concerns.(nightmares)
is is water or coolant??
a leaking heater core can leak coolant into the passenger compartment floorboard.
leaking windshield, cowl area, weatherstrips etc.can leak water into the car as well as a clogged evaporator drain.
i recommend getting it checked right away.
also make sure no wiring is being harmed.
post back with results...
thanks
Jim
