Daihatsu Mira losing power
Hi, I have a 1991 model Daihatsu Mira that has a problem that I cant work out what it is. I don't know much about cars to start with so any help would be great. Ok the problem is once the car is warmed up after about 1/2hr to 1hr of driving and I go to drive up a steep hill or go onto the freeway the car will start to cut in and out while accelerating and eventually stall. It feels as though I am running out of petrol but I am not. I have changed the fuel filter and replaced the spark plugs and leads. Does anyone here have any ideas what the problem may be? If you need more info from me just let me know, thanks.

If you suspect fuel then you should be monitoring the fuel pressure using a gauge during the failure to determine if fuel is the problem or not. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

It's a tool for measuring fuel pressure. That question alone tells me you shouldn't be trying to do this yourself. You need to leave it to the repair shop.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings but I tell it like it is. If you don't know what a fuel pressure gauge is, then you really have no business trying to repair that car.

Hey dude, I'm not the one that is trying to tackle something that I am clueless about. I repair cars for a living so when my wife needs surgery, I don't go onto a medical forum and ask them how to do it. You have no mechanical knowledge at all and you have no business attempting this. Those are the facts. if you don't want to hear them, don't attempt something you shouldn't. It's time to close this now.
