My wife accidentally put diesel in our new 2018 Hyndai Elantra. She drove it for about a mile, parked and when she tried to start it, of course it would not start. I was able to drop and drain the tank and put unleaded in the tank. But the car still does not start. I suspect there is still diesel in the fuel line. I disconnected the fuel line from the injector manifold and some fuel sprayed out. I blew air into the injector manifold. But I suspect there is still diesel in the fuel line. How to I flush that diesel out? My car has 1000 miles. My car has an automatic transmission.

At this point it's probably best to remove the spark plugs and likely replace with new as they will be all fouled. While the plugs are out, crank the engine repeatedly until the injectors flush all that diesel out and then install the new plugs.

Question "petepete" is how did a diesel nozzle fit into the hole of the filler neck? IDK I don't use that fuel at all ever just noticed they are larger and shouldn't fit in? Been ages I did buy some for something else.

Do as HT suggests and get it out. I can't think of a reason the problem has to be true damage to it just have to get it all out. Just don't burn up the starter motor cranking too long on anything several seconds and give it a couple minutes to cool down it's a waste to ruin that on top of this wouldn't be warranty if known why,
