Dodge Durango

I have a 1999 Dodge Durango, 6 cyn. Everytime I attempt to add gas, the pumps shuts off like the tank is full, and it does this until I'm almost on full and than the gas will pump normally. It sometimes takes up to 20 minutes to pump just a few gallons of gas, and up to 30 minutes to fill the truck up. Some pumps work better than others, but known of them work normally. And thoughts on what could be causing this.

Check engine light on? If so, what code(s) number(s) is stored?

Probably not.

The tank could have a venting problem or there is something going on inside the filler tube/hose. Before you refuel, you could remove the vapor line from the charcoal canister that goes to the fuel tank to see if you have a restriction from the canister to the LDP's vent. With the hose removed, see if your filling the tank problem goes away. If it does, you have a restriction somewhere between the canister and the LDP/vent valve's remote filter.

If the tank is still hard to fill, you could have a restriction in the line that you disconnected from the canister, problem with the roll over valve/vapor flow control, or a problem inside the filler tube.
