I have a 95 Oldsmobile regency elite 98 that's been sitting for about five years. It. Starts and runs but I want to drain and drop the tank. It was parked with a full tank. Is there an easy way to drain the tank?

I'm afraid not. Removing the tank and pouring it out is about the only way. You are likely going to have to clean out the tank and replaced the fuel pump anyway after that amount of time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Pouring it or siphoning it out is the only way to do it... You should be able to get a hose down the filler neck on that model....If not, disconnect the filler hose from the tank & drain it from there...

Hi Sidom, Most of them have roll over balls these days making it impossible to siphon.

Yea the newers ones are a pain.... That time period, he may be able to get a hose all the way down the neck into the tank.....If not then taking the hose off right at the take should work..... I hadn't drained tanks in years.....It was so common for them to come in with bad pumps & a full tank of gas, I just got use to pulling the tanks when they were full.....Took to long to drain...lol
