Driver side rear wheel bent Sign In

1998
Pontiac Grand Prix

163k miles

Backed into a light pole. Scraped up the side of my car a little but somehow the front of the driver side rear wheel in bent inwards. Feels like im driving on ice now, car wants to sway everywhere and I have to hold my steering to compensate for the bent rear wheel. What did I break or bend...?

The car will need to be inspected to see what needs to be replaced.

The reason it's handling so bad is the alignment is way out. You will ruin your tires in a very short time if you don't take care of the problem..

Sounds like you hit something pretty good so I would say at a minimum you bent your rim & hub. Possibly damaged the control arms & strut. If you're doing this yourself, jack it up and compare the pieces of the damaged side to the other side to get an idea of what is bent & what isn't. spin the wheel & see if it wobbles then take it off & spin the hub and see if it spins true or not.

After all the repairs are done and alignment is going to have to be done to get everything back into specs..............
