Engine Ticking/Clicking Sign In

2003 Mercury Mountaineer 4.6L v8 185k

Rough turn over
Loss of power
RPMs drop quickly after accelerating
Loud clicking/ticking noise coming from the engine at idle and between 1-3 RPMs

Sounds like that engine definitely has some unknown internal issues. It's about impossible to pinpoint any sort of diagnosis from a youtube video.

Maybe it blew a spark plug out.

I've figured it out. I have an intake manifold gasket leak. I'm assuming oil and coolant got mixed together and that noise I here is internal for sure.

Checked all of the plugs.

Assuming? Was pulling the dipstick too much work?

So coolant mixed with oil? That will cause bearing issues which lead to rod knock and spun bearings.
