I have a 1998 Buick Regal that the engine kills when the signal lights are turned on. To date the starter has been rebuilt (it needed to be done anyway), the body control module has been replaced and reprogrammed. We are searching the wire harness but have not been able to find anything. The car will not start now. There is 0 volts to the security system. Any advice?

You need to check for spark, injector pulse, and check fuel pressure with a guage. If you are suspicious of the passlock system, you will have spark and fuel pressure, you won't have injector pulse. The best way to verify this is with a scan tool. Once you access the datastream you can check VTD status. If it stays ENABLED when you crank the engine, the passlock system is defeating the injectors. If your test results reveal other systems are not working when you crank the engine, post back with the results and we can go further. Steve

Steve, thanks for the help. Last night we were able to find a broken wire in the harness. We repaired the wire and have the car running. Again, thanks for your help.
