Hi all
I have a 1300 crossflow engine in a vehicle .
Jago jeep kit car
All runs fine however I noticed exhaust gases coming from a ten ppence piece aperture under/behind the carb.as i said engine runs great is it ok to block this off? if so best way to do it?

No pics showed and I don't know this contraption but do know some common uses of exhaust under carbs is to warm up incoming air/fuel mix so that manifold is sealing exhaust gasses or should till it passes by and goes out where it belongs.
I don't know how you are so sure it's exhaust by sight if only that not much to see if burning properly. Still if so the manifold it goes thru isn't sealing or cracked would be most likely to me.
Are you up to take it apart meaning carb off, manifold out to see it probably see how it's failing to seal as intended? Are proper parts (gaskets) available for this thing AND do you have "torque" specifications and order to tighten these parts should matter totally.
That's fairly universal for parts of the sort on any engine and what you do. If metal parts are out of specification to work I hope it's a known engine to machine properly so it seals if you do find that it's way off?
Just know you can get parts you shouldn't re-use gaskets,
