2003 Hyunda Sonata 2.4L base 4 cylinder - got it inApril w/114K miles. Good condition. I check tires / pressure -filter - fluids monthly. Tires / battery / brakes ok. Change oil regularly. No records from previous owner. What would you get to help keep this car healthy for a long while? -tune up? -transmission flush? -radiator flush?

If you go by the maintenance schedule, you should be ok. Does the transmission fluid look contaminated? Are the spark plug wires original? Pull a spark plug out and check for wear (excessive gap) Feel the hoses. Are they hard, crunchy, and/or leaking? Might be a good idea to flush out the coolant system if your not sure when the last time it was done. Also a good idea to replace the radiator cap. Another thing you might want to think about is the timing belt. If you not sure when it was last serviced, you might want to pull the upper timing cover and take a look. If you have any doubts, have it replaced along with the water pump and the cam and crank seals. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
