Exterior Car Door Repair	Sign In

Hi, so today there was a bit of a scrape up that happened with my car, but now the exterior door handle isn't working; the interior door handle works just fine.

I'm trying to figure out what part(s) I need to get to replace/ fix the door.

Basically, when I try to open the door, the door handle pulls but feels like it isn't on the spring mechanism (dunno the name for it) and it also doesn't engage the opening mechanism for the door itself (dunno the part name)

My car is a 2008 Honda Accord with a V6 engine. I dunno if the mileage is relevant in this case, but I'll pull it if necessary.

Any help I can get to figure out what I need to fix/replace would be appreciated; particularly the name of the parts in question and some potential references that could help me fix it. Thank you in advance!

You can't possibly expect that anyone can have any idea how much or what kind of damage was done to your car with this amount of information.

I don't think even seeing the outside of the car would be sufficient to know what is broken inside. The door panel will have to be removed to inspect what is or isn't connected and why.

Reach behind the handle there may be a bar that you can pull on to open the door . Not uncommon for a honda door latch to go bad , Not a lot of fun to replace you'll need patience
