F350 overheating problem

F350 overheating problem Sign In

We have a 2001 F-350 4X4 that only overheats when under extreme heat and under load. Have checked out radiator, thermostat etc. Only happened last year in 113 degree heat have had no problems since. Going on vacation soon and a little nervous. Any thoughst

Radiator /T-stat o.k then have you had a pressure test on the cooling system/ a bad radiator cap/ a weak fan clutch, these are some of the things you also have to check, and far as pulling any thing need to check owners manual on load limits.

113F !! That's enough for any system! If that temp is routine for you get in the habit of just tossing the fan clutch every few years. They lose a % each year and you can't afford that at those temps. Best OE thermostatic one you can find should help a lot,
