Ford/Taurus

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus. I have a few things I need help with. First is my vents. They worked fine until I went through a HUGE water puddle and my car was dead for several minutes before it would start back up. When I turned the heater on, the fan started making a funny whining nose, and shortly after stopped blowing out of the vents in the front and back. It will however blow through the feet and defrost. Second is my power-steering. It has a major leak, I mean it has made a mess! But every time I go to put more power-steering fluid in, it's still pretty much full and it's really foamy, and it says not to over fill.... Third is.... I am having to replace my battery faithfully once a year. I have been doing this for 4 years in a row. Fourth, I am always getting a flat on the drivers front tire. Is there a reason it's always that tire? I heard it could be my alignment. Fifth, the lights on my gear shift does not light up anymore, my head lights are automatic, but now my dash lights will only turn on when I turn my lights on manually. They used to light up automatically. Sixth, is my emergency break light. My emergency break is NOT ON, but the light stays on constantly. I have had my breaks replaced, but the light is still on. I appreciate any help I can get on any of these problems. I would like to fix some of this myself instead of pay a mechanic (single mom) I've always liked getting my hands dirty anyway :-)

OK, the way this works is one car, one problem, one question. Don't combine a bunch of different problems in one question because it's impossible to follow. I'm locking this one for the time being so you can start over with one problem per question. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
