Ford CMax 2015 - radiator fan Sign In

Ford CMax 2015
58k miles

I've noticed that the car radiator fan doesn't seem to be coming on. To test this I ran the car up to temperature and monitored via the OBD2.

The guage in the cluster just sits at middle the entire time. The OBD2 reports that the temperature goes up and whilst driving and then idling was at 90+ degrees Celsius. I opened the engine and the fan is not running at all.

The coolant level is good however it doesn't vary when cold or hot, always sitting in the 'good' level measure

When the air conditioning is turned on the fan in the engine comes on and rotates freely with no noise or issues.

Am I seeking out a problem which doesn't exist or is this something I should seek help on.

Many thanks for any advice.

It's not supposed to come on at those temps. Most fans aren't even programmed to come on until approx 227 deg F.

If you want to test the fan turn the AC on. It should come on then.

Temp needle inside stays good (you said) and fan does come on with A/C requested.
I too don't think you have a problem.

If per chance with A/C on the temp needle (gauge) for engine temp) inside drops there might be an issue but if staying steady like you said doesn't suggest it,
