Fuel Problem

Hello we are in some desperate need of help... We have a 96 Geo Tracker that we bought from my brother. It is a 1.6l. When my brother owned it before we bought it it would run but sometimes quit and then start back up maybe 30 min to an hour later. Might only do this once or twice a month then it just quit working all together. We bought it and figured it was the fuel pump so we replaced it and still nothing. But you know how you can hear fuel pumps come on well you dont hear this on this tracker. So then we tried pouring gas into the carborator and it started and as long as you kept the gas poured into the carborator it would run. We were told that it was the fuel pump relay and that they were located behind the glove box we did locate these but did not know which one it was. I call the dealer and advanced auto and other auto parts stores only to be told that they no longer can get the fuel pump relay. That all they can get is the fuel injection relay. My question is are these relays the same? If so where is it located? I also need to know if you think this is the problem of why it wont start? Please Help us we need it running before winter hits.... Thanks

The top one is the fuel pump and the bottom one is the main. Your just going to have to pull it out and try to get numbers off it that the parts store can cross reference. I'm betting there is something aftermarket that matches up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
