Fuel Problems. Sign In

Ford ranger 1994 V6 4.0

I had a leak in a fuel line above the gas tank, so I had it hanging down and have been working on. but yesterday it keep leaking so i replaced the fuel filter and found that it was clogged. So after doing that i tried starting it and it wont pump any gas at all. i checked all fuse and replaced the rpump relay also. But im wondering it some wires didnt get disconnected while it was hanging or sumthing. I Can get under the tank while someone turns the key foward and i think i can hear it click. Also one other weird thing. ever since i started working on the tank the fuel gauge has over the full mark. I thought it was because the tnak was sitting weird but i lifted it back up into place and it stil does the same thing. ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks.

As a wild guess, I suspect when the tank was hanging down it may have pulled the wiring and either disconnected or pulles some wires out. You need to drain tank, and do the repair properly. You can also remove the bed easier than removing the tank. Just unkook the lights in the rear, take out 6 bed bolts and have a couple of friends help slide it back. Also removing the bed does not entail removing any fuel.
