Fuel gauge 2001 silverado Sign In

Have a 2001 Silverado 3500 6.0 gas. It has dual tanks. My front gas tank has been leeking from the fuel pump ring when full or near full for about a month. Two weeks ago I filled upp both tanks. When I wen to drive away from the fuel pump, I noticed my gas gauge dropping from full to empty. It hasent moved since. I figured my sending unit may have went in the fron tank, I replaced the fuel pump and plug. Needless to say the gauge still reads emtpy even though they are both full. I tested the new fuel pump and plug, and the rear tank plug, and all checks out good. I checked all fuses in the truck and they are all good. I noticed when I put my key in the ignition but did not start the truck that the gauge read full for about a second or so. I then removed the plug from the rear tank and did the same thing. It read half full wich it is at that point, but only for a second or so. Any ideas?

Those sender signals are processed by the PCM. You will likely need a professional grade scan tool to look at PCM data on those. It could be a wiring problem too.
