Gas Gauge problem Sign In

Hello I have a 1992 Olds 88 Royale and the gas gauge reads full but the low fuel light is on and the tank is full. What could be wrong?

If you fill it up and reset trip odometer for now when you know for sure it's full and when it's really getting low if there's any chance it really could be low. At a couple hundred miles you know it isn't full.

For now - I'd check the connections where wiring plugs into the tank and take it from there after they are known ok, no crust or problems noted. WD-40 or smear of dielectric grease may help prevent it from coming back if that's all it is,
