Gas Mileage? Sign In

I have a 1994 Honda Accord 2.2L with almost 177,000 miles. I fill my car up once a week. I would get about 370-ish to the tank which was 14 gallons until the light turned on. THen one week i got 340, then 320 the next and ever since then it has been like that. I have changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, and the oxygen sensor. I am in the process of changing to fuel filter but am going ot have to take it to a honda dealer because the last person that changed it put it on very tight and im to scared to strip it. I know that a small car like this should be getting way better gas mileage then i am. Anyone have any suggestions?

For added gas mileage, Try a K&N filter. It replaces your old air filter and somehow gets you a higher Mile /Gallon ratio. You could also have carbon built up in your injectors. But that's just a guess. Fuel filter is probably way to go. I would take it to a mechanic rather than a dealership. Those guys like to charge.

I have taken it to a mechanic already and they tried everything possible to get it off. It is already a little stripped. The crows foot just bends open, thats how tight it is. If the fuel filter doesnt change anything then ill probably have to take it in to a mechanic to get the injectors looked at. Does anyone have a picture of all the vaccuum hoses that i should look at?
