Had brake pad and disks changed, now car leaks fluid from engine Sign In

Hi all, I recently had my brake pads and disks changes which was well over due.

About 3 days later, I started smelling oil in the car whilst driving and now I've noticed the car leaks fluid from under the engine for a few minutes after I come to a stop and constantly whilst engine is on.

The fluid starts off clear to yellowish in color and dried to a thick black.

Can anyone give me any ideas as to what this is?

Car is nissan note diesel 64 plate

This car isn't sold to this US based site no matters though. If odor of oil and only brakes done look for fluid level NOW! It not an oil it's brake fluid even that could leak anywhere it travels.

Since you smelled something look at what might be wet on exhaust parts now and find the source. Carry spare brake fluid (cheap enough) know how to add it if brake fluid leaking that fast you'll lose braking and should be warned too late on most vehicles,

(edit more) Just other maybe things. Cap left off, over filled or spilled when doing this job??

Yeah, I know how you feel. I once had stitches on my leg and 3 days later had a toothache.
