Honda 2000 almost starts.. Sign In

Hi everyone,

My 2000 Honda Accord is so close to starting but just cant quite get the "UUnnF" to fully start. I posted a link to the video of it .. (basically makes it "veeer-wah-wah-veeeer-wah-wah" noise.

Is it the spark plugs? Any help would be greatly appreciated :(

Heres the recording of my car sound: http://tinypic.com/usermedia.php?uo=adkBqYNLltuFomTEOxo0iIh4l5k2TGxc#.U-wlWvldWAg

Thanks,
Seth

Do a compression test. I didn't like the uneven sound of that when it was cranking and you may have a dead cylinder.

After you find out if the motor internals are any good, you need to check your fuel pressure, spark and injector pulse. The tools to do this are pretty cheap, most all of the tools needed can be rented with a refundable deposit at most parts stores.

What kind of mileage is on this? Did this suddenly happen or have you been having some issues for a bit and it now just won't start at all? Have you been using oil? Which engine do you have?

Do the tests I gave you and post back with the numbers. You will want to make sure you have a fully charged battery and do both a dry and a wet compression test.

If you don't know how to do a c-test, here is a vid to watch

A few things Eric forgot to mention is that you will want to full the fuel pump fuse so your injectors are not spraying fuel and you want to hold the throttle wide open while cranking.
